Paul Woodhouse is the Director of Valuation Services at Smythe LLP. He has over 30 years of experience delivering valuation services for purposes ranging from mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, shareholder and marital disputes, litigation support and loss quantification. Paul joined us in 2015 and has led our Valuation Services practice since then.
Paul works closely with his clients to understand their businesses and their objectives in order to customize solutions that meet their needs. He has significant industry experience in the technology, brewing and hospitality sectors.
Prior to joining Smythe Advisory, Paul spent a total of 15 years working with two other national and international accounting firms in their Vancouver, Edmonton and Barbados offices. He also operated his own boutique valuation practice for 10 years. He has testified as an expert in business valuation before the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and at arbitration hearings in BC.
Paul is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) who qualified in 1987 and received the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation in 1990. He graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1985 with an Honors Degree (First Class) in Business Administration.
Paul formerly served as President of the BC Chapter of The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV) and recently joined the Collaborative Divorce Vancouver Society as a participating member and an expert in the valuation of family-owned businesses.
